Governor of Krasnoyarsk paid a working visit to Mongolia
Delegation of Krasnoyarsk region headed by the Governor Alexander Uss went to Mongolia "to look for non-traditional ways to Asian markets". This was reported by the Governor of Krasnoyarsk region Alexander Uss in his Telegram channel.
Mongolia is a strategic territory for cargo transit between China and Russia, with 90% of all cargo turnover going through it. In 2016, the three countries signed a program to develop four rail and three road cross-border corridors in Mongolia. The main goods going from Russia to China via Mongolia are coal and other minerals.
The main export commodity from Krasnoyarsk Krai to China is timber. But let us remind you that about 40% of high-grade coal resources of Russia and almost 25% of proven reserves are concentrated in the region. Total coal reserves in the region amount to more than 4 trillion tons. Deposits are located, including in the Arctic regions of the region - for example, on the Taimyr Peninsula. Forecast resources of the basin are estimated at 185 billion tons of coal.
