Chilingarov held working meetings with representatives of the northern regions, business and science at SPIEF

Special Presidential Representative for International Cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic, President of the Association of Polar Explorers Artur Chilingarov met with representatives of the Arctic regions interested in northern projects. 

ASPOL President discussed security issues, the state of infrastructure of the regions, their points of growth and needs in the Arctic with the Governor of Murmansk region Andrei Chibis, the Governor of NAO Yuri Bezdudny, the Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolayev, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan and Daniil Martynov.

Chilingarov also met with vice-president of the Russian Geographical Society Artem Manukyan, co-owner and chairman of the board of directors of Transmashholding Andrei Bokarev and colleague in the State Duma Alexander Zhukov.

The Arctic is one of the main topics of SPIEF-2022. The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Oleg Chekunkov, stated this at the opening of the business program at the Ministry's stand. Today the Russian North plays an important role in the economy and geopolitics. 

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum takes place on June 15-18. Among the main topics for discussion are new opportunities in connection with the geopolitical situation, import substitution, the "pivot to the East" and IT. The event is attended by heads and deputy heads of departments, representatives of all Russian regions and about three thousand businessmen of different levels. Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at the plenary session on June 17.
